Took a trip out to the park today since the weather was nice (high 70s/low 80s with a good breeze) and I didn't feel like poking through the book store. Also because I didn't want to leave the book store with $100 in new stuff, which is always a high probability when I go browsing.
Yes, I'm weak. But I know my weaknesses and can sometimes work around them.
Stephens Lake Park is nice. It has an artificial lake with an island and connecting boardwalks, a 0.6 mile walking path and a 1.7 mile path for the serious business joggers. The lake is stocked with fish and has a beach section. North of the lake there's an open air amphitheatre and an activity building that can be booked for events. There's even wi-fi provided at the covered pavilions.
It's a heck of an upgrade from what I'm used to. (Said the provincial hayseed...)
I spent about an hour and a half out today, walked a little more than 3 miles before I decided to come home.
