I hadn't been following the development of this one very closely, as I was bitterly disappointed in the last two offerings (X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine). But this has a different vibe, and it looks like the production team is choosing to build their own continuity rather than mix and match from thirty plus years of comic stories. Which is good thing - we seem to be living in an age content to feed off the creativity of the past. Deconstruction at least offers a new look at old themes.

I'd much rather have that than yet another retelling of Peter Parker becoming Spider-Man.

Zack Snyder has been selected as the director for the upcoming, Christopher Nolan produced Superman: The Man of Steel.

The chief villian is going to be General Zod, who I expect will make demands that involve kneeling at some point in the film.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. River City Ransom

Adult Swim has a short animation bit featuring one of the subplots from the Scott Pilgrim books that didn't make it into the film.

Kim is awesome. River City Ransom, which has the exact same plot as this, is also awesome.

I really would like to see them do the first Knives/Ramona fight at the reference library like this.

I haven't commented on the big Disney buys Marvel!news, mostly because I think the sturm und drang coming from some quarters of the fanboy community is, quite frankly, silly.

No, I don't believe that Disney is going to put safety nubs on the end of Wolverine's claws. Nor do I think that suddenly all the Marvel super heroes are going to relocate to Duckburg.

Disney's interest, I think, lies in the vast repository of characters and intellectual property that Marvel represents. Compared to that, monthly comics publishing is just a drop in the bucket. Oh, there might be some pressure to 'synergize' events in the comics to match the big blockbuster of the summer, but Marvel itself has been doing that since the Bill Jemas period.

Disney is a big enough entity that it can support the House of Mouse, Lost and Pulp Fiction without any wires getting crossed. It's not time for the bunker just yet.
